Join instructors Tomas Alvarez, and Jay Grammond for this amazing adventure in the Big Horn Mountains. We will discover amazing landscapes and search for mountain wildlife. We will also incorporate models in some sessions - both in the mountains and in a ranch setting.
One month out: registrants will join Tomas & Jay for an on-line planning session where we will go over the gear, equipment and tools we'll need to set ourselves up for success in the Big horns. This will be a great opportunity to learn what it takes to plan to capture amazing images. We'll also have allow time for a Q&A session to go over any questions.
Thursday, June 6: Check-in at The Historic Occidental Hotel in Buffalo, WY followed by Dinner, introductions and a sunset shoot. The Occidental Jam is held on Thursday nights and really adds to the dinner experience!
Friday, June 7: Cinch up your saddles for a day full of adventure! We'll start out with a mountaintop sunrise shoot including a "Mountain Man" re-enactor. You'll have the opportunity to create wonderful landscape images, with or without the model. Breakfast will be followed by a landscape shoot at one of the locations that makes the Bighorns so unique. Mountains, streams, lakes and canyons will fill the day while we keep an eye out for wildlife and wildflowers all along the way. Dinner at the Occidental Hotel Saloon in downtown Buffalo will cap off the day.
Saturday, June 8: We'll let you sleep in a little this morning before we head to a local ranch for images of cowboys and cowgirls working with their horses. Brunch and time for downloading images, resting, exploring local shops and museums will get you ready for the afternoon. Dinner will be followed by a sunset shoot high up in the Bighorns.
Sunday, June 9: After a couple of adventure-packed days, we will begin the day with an optional breakfast at a local historic cafe and photo walk through Historic Downtown Buffalo. Then it's time to hit the trails home with full memory cards and a whole new batch of great memories!
*Keep in mind that this Itinerary is fluid as we fine tune details. Road conditions/closures can also affect the itinerary, so we ask that you be open to adventure and trust that you will have a great time regardless!
