Wyoming Adventure: Bighorn Mountains is a four-day immersive photography experience based in and around Buffalo, taking place June 10 - 11 - 12 - 13. This event is designed as an investment in yourself as both an artist and an adventurer. You will capture dramatic sunrises and sunsets, sweeping mountain landscapes, authentic Western ranch life, wildlife, and powerful portrait sessions with some great models - all in a small, relaxed, and supportive group setting. This is a fun, low-pressure, high-inspiration journey where learning meets exploration in one of Wyoming's most photogenic regions. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged.
One month out: registrants will join Jay for an on-line planning session where we will go over the gear we'll need to set ourselves up for success in Wyoming. This will be a great opportunity to get to know our fellow adventurers. We'll also allow time for a Q&A session to go over any questions.
Wednesday, June 10: On this first night, we'll check-in at The Hampton Inn & Suites, gather for a relaxed group dinner in town, get to know one another before heading out for our first shoot. We'll finish the evening with a golden-hour sunset session at a great local historical spot, easing into the adventure with great light and great company.
Thursday, June 11: We'll start out out first full day with a sunrise shoot up in the mountains, including a model or two. You'll have the opportunity to create wonderful landscape images, with or without a model. We might even get to seems wild flowers on the mountain, we often do! After a early morning session, we will go into town for a Breakfast Buffet at the Hotel (included with your room!). After a warm breakfast and some great conversation, we will go and and find landscapes at beautiful locations in the mountains. We may even see some wildlife, which could include: Antelope, Moose, birds of prey, and more. We will keep an eye out for wildflowers all along the way as well. In the middle of that adventure, we will have lunch and some exploring in a small town on the other side of the mountain before heading back. Dinner and Music at the Historic Occidental Saloon (Bluegrass Jam) will cap off a full day.
Friday, June 12: Cinch up your saddles for a day full of adventure! We'll start the day by heading to a local ranch for images of cowboys and cowgirls working with their horses. This will be followed by breakfast buffet in town. After a little downtime to regroup, and then we will go to a couple of special spots for landscapes. Later this afternoon, we will look for more wildlife and wildflowers. Dinner together will be followed by a sunset shoot.
Saturday, June 13: After a couple of adventure-packed days, we will begin the day with the breakfast buffet, and a photo walk through a small historic western town, full of historic charm, great public art, ghost signs, quaint storefronts, and more. Then it's time to hit the trails home with full memory cards and a whole new batch of great memories!
*Keep in mind that this Itinerary is fluid as we fine tune details. We ask that you be open to adventure and trust that you will have a great time! Just ask any past participant!
